Southwest Michigan Child Care Coalition

Working Together for Families, Providers, and Communities
In Southwest Michigan, child care is essential. Families depend on it, businesses rely on it, and children deserve it. The Southwest Michigan Child Care Coalition unites parents, providers, employers, and community leaders to strengthen child care across Berrien, Branch, Calhoun, Cass, Kalamazoo, St. Joseph, and Van Buren Counties. Together, we are building solutions that make care more accessible, affordable, and sustainable.
Our Mission
Our mission is to create a child care system that works for every family in Southwest Michigan. We support providers with training and resources, equip families with connections and information, advocate for policies that put children first, and build partnerships that ensure long-term solutions.

We lift local and state voices to influence policies that support a strong child care infrastructure.
Community Partnerships & Resource Sharing
We connect agencies, organizations, businesses, and providers so resources, best practices, and innovations are shared across the region.
Health, Safety & Inclusion
We champion practices that promote child health, safety, and inclusion, ensuring every child is respected, cared for, and protected.
